Our "bun" is still very tiny, eight weeks, but it makes me awfully uncomfortable. Luckily I have not had the immobilizing nausea. Instead, I have terrible gas. Yeah, the kind that runs my husband and the dog out of the bed! I haven't been craving anything specific yet, but I most certainly cannot handle certain smells. Bless his heart, the other day, Derick asked if I wanted to make cheesy brats for dinner--As if! He is beside himself and has taken his protectiveness to a whole new level. I try to be patient and smile.
I sort of freaked out a little at first. I figured out how to take the pregnancy test and read the results, neither being an easy task. Now what to do next? I was at a total loss. I don't have OB nursing until next semester! Luckily my OBGYN nurse is very patient and I am sure I am not the first totally clueless mom-to-be she has seen. Pretty much, I don't need to do anything. Babies have a funny way of just sort of getting what they need.
On a final note, this bun will be ready in June. As it turns out, the Lord has answered all our prayers. I will graduate in May, just in time, and I will still have a child before I turn 30--barely!

yahoooo...yippeeee...hooray! so excited for all three of you...love you ALL!!!
I read the second line a couple of times just to be sure you weren't teaseing with a clever play on words and had only made a real bun in your real oven. Not so you have a "bun in the oven". Aww now you're a grown up. Sucks to be Derick, but they say the olfactory centre only registers new smells for 7-10 seconds then they just get used to it. Good luck I wish I was close to lend you maternity clothes and top bits of advise that Aunty Gerry, Aunty Chris, Aunty Trisha and Mum gave to me, Advice from loving aunts are the only pieces of advice that you probably shouldn't disregard. All the others, out the window.
Awe, by your picture I was hoping for a great bread recipe. I looove warm bread fresh out the oven.
Anyway, CONGRATULATIONS. So excited for the two of you. Marriage and baby within a year - this is going to be some crazy year for you guys. xx
what fantastic news, congratulations!! dont listen to dee this is the best advise: make the most of it, put your feet up & let everyone wait on you because it is the last time you can do it for a very long time!!
i was so happy to get the phone call and laugh at your condition with you. After hanging up the phone, i realized i had spouted several bits of "helpful" advice without even thinking. i remember standing in the Mall, pregnant with Eli, and being amazed that my round abdomen made me a magnet for unsolicited advice, (as well as losing all personal space). Of course, i told myself that i would never do that to another woman, and then i get so excited for you and spout advice without paying attention.
Anyway, i'm with Dee... throw it out the window. You'll hear more advice that is either outdated or you already know or doesn't really even apply. Enjoy the craziness!
Do keep us posted.
love you.
Congratulations, I'm excited for you! Can't wait to hear what the gender is and to see pictures someday of the little tyke. Good luck with the pregnancy!
Wahooo! I was so misled by the title of this post when i first saw it. Then I read the first line and did a little dance. Congratulations to you and Derek. This will be an exciting time, so enjoy it as best you can. Pregnancy and child raising is hard, wonderful work. Sorry about the smells. That has been one of the frustrating things both times Lilon got pregnant; she couldn't stand the smell of my breath, which made it harder to kiss her. You come up with fun ways of dealing with it.
How exciting Ariana & Derek!!! Congratulations on your little bun in the oven XO
Not Dee #5 Shelley
What wonderful news!!!! I cooked an omlette for then husband in the first 3 months of 1st pregnancy and could not eat them for about 10 years.
No use by date on this bun though.
Love to all
yippee
Congrats Ariana. I am so excited for you. You will be a great mom. You were wonderful with my kids. They all love and adore you. Let Dan know I would love to read his family's blog but I first need to be added as a viewer. I read his comment on this post and just found out that he and Lilon have two now! Las Vegas is not anywhere near as good as Greenville was! We will always have good memories of our time there and yearn to come back.
YAY!!! Congratulations!!! You'll love being a mom! It is the best thing in the WORLD!!!
I didn't know I didn't know!! How have I not checked on your blog in just enough time to miss this??? !!! How exciting. I loved your comment. And yippee on the nursing school. I wish I was in your place and would have finished mine before the babies came. That would have been nice! Now I have to resort to teaching piano or some other yuck. But THAT'S OK.
